Over the last couple years, I have been writing letters to my children. Through my letters I am able to permanently record my thoughts, share my love, and teach important lessons. At first I thought of these letters as “gifts” to my children; now I realize they are “gifts” to me that I will cherish forever. I wanted to share this project with other photographers and bloggers, and be inspired, in turn, by the way they express their love for their daughters through imagery and word. I am humbled that several amazing women chose, without hesitation, to join me in this project. On the 25th of each month, we will share our images and letters. Each photographer will link to another, and we will form a small circle of links. We may live in different places and lead very different lives, yet there are several things that bond us: we are all photographers, we are all mothers, and we all love our daughters.

The first day of 2013 was a great one — it was a relaxed day with my family doing very normal things. Sleeping in, a long morning bath, a bowling alley to ourselves, and a late afternoon movie made for a wonderful day. It’s these routine days and routine moments that really seem so special. I’m so grateful to have each and every one.
