It’s official.
I’m a soccer mom.
But I’m not just any typical soccer mom. I’m the season ticket holder soccer mom. I’m the mom who proudly totes the double-size fold up sports chair so I can snuggle with the girls during games. I’m the mom who has to wash soccer socks every single day. I’m the mom who drives all over town to bring her boy to the highest rated and most elite soccer camps. I’m the mom who packs huge water bottles, extra shirts, and energy bars in his soccer backpack before each training session. I’m the mom who is waiting for the day that a certain small person comes to me with a huge grin and a giant sticker and asks me to permanently brand my vehicle’s bumper and prove my allegiance to the greatest sport of all: soccer.
We spent our 4th of July at (where else?) a soccer field. It turned out to be a beautiful night. At the end of the evening the littlest big fan was ecstatic because the score sign said 4-0 in favor of the Minnesota Stars.
Sporting events may not be my favorite thing to photograph, but I’m pretty sure years down the road when Evan is signing his first professional soccer contract these will come in very handy. The truth is, I will enthusiastically share in the interests and hobbies of my children, no matter what they might be. I just feel so fortunate to make memories like these with my three beautiful little people.
